28 wt Cotton

Available in a range of 270 colors, Makò cotton 28wt is the Aurifil thread recommended for all those machine embroidery projects where the thread needs to stand out. It also offers excellent results in moss stitching embroidery.

In House Linen manufacturing this thread weight is usually combined with Aurifil 40wt cotton for scalloped stitching. In some processes, the 28wt is used as the cover stitch while the 40wt is assigned the function of binding the stitch.

However, there are several usages, such as lockstitch, zigzag and overlock.

Another possible use for the 28wt is on the "chain stitch" machines to make the "bourdon" coverage pairing with 40wt in the needle.

The most suitable needle for this thread weight is of size 80/90.
